Racing: Stackhouse extends stay to ride Hold It Harvey

Daniel Stackhouse has extended a holiday in New Zealand to ride Hold It Harvey in the $200,000 Windsor Park Plate at Hastings on Saturday.

Stackhouse is completing his apprenticeship with Peter Moody in Melbourne after leading the South Island apprentices for the past two seasons with 34 and 74 wins respectively.

He is spending time with his family at Ashburton where he was apprenticed to Pam Gerard.

Stackhouse has ridden Hold It Harvey for a third and fifth last season.

He is also engaged for The Big Ginga and Imaani, stablemates of Hold It Harvey, racing at Hastings.

The Terri Rae-trained trio are booked to cross Cook Strait today.

Hold It Harvey was a last-start winner over 1600m at Washdyke on September 2 with 60.5kg when ridden by Alysha Collett, who claimed 2kg. He is is also an acceptor at Riccarton on Saturday.

"He [Hold It Harvey] needs another race before the 2000m (Spring Classic) at Hastings and I left him in at Riccarton in case a crossing did not eventuate with rough weather," Rae said.

Jamie Bullard is back on Selenus, who is attempting her fourth win on end at Riccarton.

Matthew Cameron rode the mare in her most recent win over 2200m at Oamaru on August 26 when Bullard cold not make the weight.

Bullard rode the Jon Sargent-trained Selenus to win over 2000m at Riccarton and 1600m at Oamaru in her previous two starts.

She heads the field for a rating 80 1600m on Saturday with 59kg.

Michael Coleman is making the trip to Riccarton to continue his association with Planet Rock, who resumes in the Canterbury Belle Stakes.

Coleman rode Planet Rock when she was campaigned in Auckland by Peter and Dawn Williams in January.

Planet Rock won at Ellerslie and finished third to Fort Lincoln and Antonio Lombardo in the Karaka Million. The Fastnet Rock filly has had two trials in a fresh preparation and she finished second to Mighty Galaxy at Rangiora on September 6.

The mount on Royal Queen at Hastings on Saturday has gone to Opie Bosson. Coleman rode her to win at the premier meeting at Hastings on August 27.

Anabandana, the leading 2yr-old last season, resumes in the Gold Trail Stakes at Hastings.

Anabandana is a $5 favourite with the New Zealand TAB for the New Zealand One Thousand Guineas at Riccarton on November 12.

Wall Street will race without blinkers in the Windsor Park Plate .
