Lyalldale Invasion is poised to regain wining form at Forbury Park tonight.

The 6yr-old was beaten a nose by The Fiery Ginga at Forbury Park eight days ago in his second start back from a long spell.

The Phil Williamson-trained Lyalldale Invasion had finished third to Dreamit and Raymauwarrhen Sun fresh up at Oamaru on August 8.

Lyalldale Invasion had not raced for 11 months.

"He just had a big spell to give him time to develop," Matthew Williamson, his driver, said.

"He needed his race first up and was beaten by a good one last week."

Stablemate Geena's Star may provide the most opposition to Lyalldale Invasion. Geena's Star won her last start at Gore on August 29.

Williamson has gained the drive on Von Regal in the race for junior drivers tonight with Live Courage being switched to a standing-start race.

He will continue his association with Fiery Rascal (race 7), who overcame an early tangle from a standing start to win last week. Fiery Rascal is in a mobile start tonight.

Oscar Royce, a winner at Forbury Park three starts back and a close second last week, is a top chance in race 6.
