Racing: Rongahere back at Forbury Park

Rongahere, who has not raced since November, is due to resume at Forbury Park tomorrow night.

The 5yr-old, trained by Jeff Williams, of Invercargill, was a winner at Wyndham from four starts this season.

"He had a slight tendon tear and was out in the paddock for three months," Williams said.

Rongahere had a similar injury as a 4yr-old when he was restricted to one start and did not race for 12 months.

Rongahere has had the past three weeks with Colin and Julie De Filippi at Ladbrooks, who took over the trotter Idid It Myway from Williams.

Idid It Myway won five races for Williams.

Muscle And Power will be declared the winner by a walk-over in the heat of the Breeders' Crown for 2yr-old trotters at Alexandra Park on Friday night.

He was the only nomination.

The last-start winner of the Harness Jewels will be delcared the winner after an inspection by stipendiary stewards on Friday night.

The 2yr-old trotter Outmuscle has joined the Cambridge stable of Sean McCaffrey.

Outmuscle has had a win and seven placings in eight starts for Allan and Lee Georgeson.

Dexter Dunn has gained the drive on Cmefly in the race for junior drivers at Forbury Park tomorrow night.

The Ben Waldron-trained Cmefly has won at Ashburton and Addington and finished third at Washdyke from three starts.

Ricky May has been the driver.

Jonny Cox is back on Parasite in race 10.

Mark Jones who drove the 3yr-old to win last Thursday, is behind stablemate Chicco Marx.

Cox drove Parasite to win at Forbury Park last month.

Jones will stay with Rae Galleon in race 5.

Tim Williams is on stablemate Somerton Beau, whom Jones drove to win last Thursday.

The Moth, a newcomer to the Ashburton stable of Doug and Susan Breed, won a workout at Ashburton yesterday.

The 5yr-old Caprock mare was a winner at Tauranga and Alexandra Park earlier this year when trained by Tony Grayling at Pukekohe.

The Moth ran the 2400m in 3.09.4, the last 800m in 57.7 yesterday.

Gennady Lacey won the 2400m (mobile) workout by two and a-half lengths from Courageous Babe in 3.06.7 and 59.8.

Begin, who is engaged at Addington on Friday night, won the heat for trotters by four lengths in 3.18.7 after starting from 20m.
