Ray is set to have his first start since joining the Waiuku stable of Michelle Wallis at Alexandra Park tomorrow night.
The 7yr-old winner of nine of his 23 starts when trained by Tim Butt, has not raced since January, 2011. He has been leased by clients of the beach trainer.
Irish Whisper, a rival for Ray, is now owned by Murray Notman, of Pukekohe.
His sale to Canada fell through when transport difficulties arose.
Irish Whisper will remain in the Papakura stable of Tony Herlihy. He was bought by Auckland agent John Curtin from Bev Williamson, of Oamaru. Irish Whisper had two starts in the ownership of Curtin for a second and a win at Alexandra Park last month.
The discontinuation of a direct flight from Auckland to North America, via Melbourne has created a difficulty exporting horses.
The number of horses exported to North America this season has declined to 19 from 32 last season and 182 in 2006-07. The strength of the New Zealand dollar has also adversely affected exports.
The exports to Australia total 703 compared with 825 last season, the highest figure recorded.
Bev Williamson had a win at Addington last Friday as the co-owner of Eastwood Pharaoh with Williamson stable employee Steve Allen.
Williamson and Allen claimed Eastwood Pharaoh for $10,000 at Forbury Park last month and sent the 7yr-old to Geoff and Judy Knight at Roxburgh, mainly for straight line training. He will be back at Addington next week, along with Little Joe, for the claiming series.
Eastwood Pharaoh had won races at Cambridge when trained by Scott Dickson and Forbury Park for Warren Stapleton.
Brad Williamson is back driving Miss Pegasus at Addington tomorrow night. He drove the 3yr-old trotting filly in a maiden win at Forbury Park on June 14. his brother Nathan has driven Miss Pegasus to win her subsequent starts at Oamaru and Washdyke.
Hokuri Handrail, winner of five races, including four this season from the Invercargill stable of Murray Brown, has been exported to Australia.
