"She is in Greymouth Hospital with a compacted seventh vertebra," Michael Pitman, her employer, said.
"She has full feeling and there is talk of fitting her with a brace and transferring her to Christchurch tomorrow."
Apprentice Moore (21) has been a key player in the success of Pitman over the past fortnight.
The stable has won 22 races over seven meetings during that period, a personal best for Pitman on the holiday circuit, which started with the Otago meeting on December 26.
Sub Prime and Windarra won for the stable on Saturday when ridden by Moore. She has ridden nine of those winners, including the Waikouaiti Cup on Peyow Peyow and the $12,000 race for 3 and 4yr-olds on Aluminium Bikerack at Kurow and a double on Milo, the up-and-coming 3yr-old.
Moore was injured when her mount Heza Kool Kat fell 100m from the finish of the last race on SaturdayMoore returned to riding this season after a year off following a knee injury.
"She had to take out a loan to pay for surgery on her knee," Pitman said.
Pitman said Lisa Allpress had answered a distress call to ride members of the stable at the Westland Racing Club meeting at Hokitika on Wednesday. They include the 3yr-old filly Aluminium Bikerack in the Miss Scenicland Stakes, a $20,000 weight-for-age feature for fillies and mares.
Pitman has also Sand Toyz, Typhoon Warning and Dior's Gold in the race. Sand Toyz won the feature last year.
Sub Prime, who has won at Waikouaiti, Reefton and Kumara in the space of eight days, is an acceptor on Wednesday but she may be reserved for Greymouth next Saturday.
• Joy Dense, the Omoto trainer, is also in Greymouth Hospital, after breaking her ankle in a fall from a horse yesterday.
"I have smashed my ankle but the adrenalin from a win on Saturday has kept me going," she said from her hospital bed. She trained Kahlua, whom she races with members of her family.
"I will be in hospital for a few days until the swelling goes down and they operate."
• Australian jockey Corey Brown has gained the ride on Katie Lee in the $1 million Telegraph Handicap at Trentham on Saturday week, APP reports.
Katie Lee is an $8 chance with the New Zealand TAB. Sir Patrick Hogan, the owner of Katie Lee, gained the services of Brown when regular rider Opie Bosson told him he would not be able to make the filly's 53kg.
"I've been to New Zealand to ride at Ellerslie but I've never ridden at Trentham," Brown said.
Blinkers will go back on Monton in the Telegraph.
The Tim Martin-trained Sydney galloper started favourite in the Railway Handicap on New Year's Day, but he could only manage eighth in the Ellerslie feature won by outsider Miss Raggedy Ann.
The Gai Waterhouse-trained Swift Alliance is the $3.50 favourite while First Command, a winner at Caulfield on Saturday, is at $9. Monton rounds out the Australian contingent at $10. First Command is topweight with 58.5kg. Swift Alliance will be a late nomination by January 18 for the group one race.
