Emily Taylor, an Australian jumps jockey, has replaced Sam Drake in the stable of Pam Gerard at Ashburton.
Taylor, who has ridden a winner over fences, has the mounts on Guananjuato and Super Glow for the stable at Washdyke tomorrow. She arrived in New Zealand on Thursday night.
She rode in New Zealand two seasons back.
Drake, who rode Guananjuato to a last-start win in a maiden hurdles at Oamaru, has returned to England after a problem with her visa.
Courteney Van Der Werf is back on Windwhistle tomorrow. Windwhistle is top weight with 59kg in a rating 80 1200m and Van Der Werf can claim 2kg. She rode Windwhistle to win at Washdyke on June 19. The 3yr-old won his next start at Riccarton with Ryan Hurdle the rider.
Ishiabeel, a seven-and-a-half-length winner of the Winter Cup Trial on a slow track at Washdyke 12 months ago, is seeking a repeat win tomorrow.
His stablemate Don't Say Clang, winner of the Winter Cup Trial in 2008 and 2009, is a rival. Jamie Bullard, who rode Don't Say Clang in his 2009 win, has the mount on Ishiabeel. Jillian Morris, who rode Don't Say Clang to finish second to Flying Alibi at Ashburton last Sunday, has retained the mount.
The Judicial Control Authority has set down August 23 and 24 for the hearing of a charge against Victorian trainer Lance Justice in regard to the positive test returned by Smoken Up after winning the Interdominion Final on April 8.
Bruce Squire QC and Professor of law Geoff Hall have been appointed to hear the charge at Petone.
