"I have decided not to take him and Rhythmic Sun to Auckland, as they are not stepping away 100% from a stand," Alan Clark, their East Taieri trainer, said.
The Fiery Ginga ran the 2700m (mobile) on Friday in 3.26.8, 4.8sec inside the track record set by Ohoka Jasper as a 5yr-old in 2005.
Clark said The Fiery Ginga had improved since his win, his third in four starts as a 3yr-old.
"He has been tieing up and didn't trot the bends as well as he should at Invercargill," Clark said.
"I changed his shoeing a before the race."
Clark said his wife, Fiona, had been massaging The Fiery Ginga and the horse had responded.
"I will enter both horses for a mobile start race for junior drivers at Invercargill in a fortnight and offer the drive to Dexter Dunn," Clark said.
Dunn drove The Fiery Ginga to win a race for junior drivers at Gore in October.
