The 5yr-old mare was bought on Thursday by Natalie Gameson and the Rebel One syndicate out of the Winton stable of Tony Stratford.
She was on her way to the Weedons trainer Jamie Gameson (husband of the new owner) when she won last night. The 5yr-old mare was having her 13th start. She had a second and a fourth in four starts for Stratford and nine unplaced starts for two other trainers over the last two years.
• The 3yr-old trotter Sonofanearl qualified for the Harness Jewels when downed older horses last night. He continued the run of success for trainer Nigel McGrath, who prepares the Earl gelding for Mike and Sue McGuire, of Ashburton.
Sonofanearl set a 2200m track record for trotters of all ages of 2.51. The previous record for a 3yr-old was 2.53.3 (2001). The track record for older horses is 2.51.6 held by St Croix (2009).
• Three committee members of the Forbury Park Trotting Club trained winners last night. Ray Hanson won with Lucy Hest at odds of 30-to-one. Ray Fidow was successful with Who's Escaped and Daryl Trainer won with Paris H.
Ken Campbell, a steward of the club, is in the ownership of Lucy Hest with Hanson, breeder Colin Campbell (no relation to Ken), Barry Dent, of Christchurch and Joan Paul, of Palmerston.
Paris H was having her third start for Trainor. The 3yr-old filly joined his stable three months ago and she was subsequently leased by the Who Wants Pudding syndicate of mainly first time owners. They include Trainor's parents Bruce and Judy, sister-in-law Lisa Trainor and Bronwyn Haines.
Trainor's 15-year-old son, Jack, does much of the work with Paris H.
Trainor was attracted to Paris H as he owned her dam, Crossover (Miles McCool-Takeover). He loaned Crossover to Allan Georgeson, who bred Paris H (by Washington VC). He recently sold the mare in foal to Washington VC.
