Racing: Gallant Guru to fore

The fortunes of White Robe Lodge stallion Gallant Guru continue to shine after he sired a trifecta at Gore on Thursday, just five days after siring three winners at the same venue.

Appropriately enough, it was White Robe-trained galloper Akal who won the 2000m maiden, beating home Tedesco, also trained by Brian and Shane Anderton, and Taniwha for Ascot Park trainer Jim Curran.

The good run for Gallant Guru was not solely restricted to maiden company. Gunna Fly moved out of rating 65 company with a 1 length win over Thegreatpickpocket, providing apprentice jockey Jake Lowry with one of two wins on the day.

Lowry's other win came on Forever Vital in a 1335m maiden for his employers Brian, and Shane Anderton, who ended up with three wins on the day when Jimmytoshoes prevailed in the rating 65 2000m.

Wingatui trainer Terry Kennedy won with both Drumregal and Princess Brook.

Princess Brook's win in the New Zealand Bloodstock Pearl Series rating 65 1335m was a profitable one. The filly was paid up for the series so the $7500 winning stake was augmented by a $10,000 bonus to owner Fred King and a $1000 bonus to Kennedy.
