Franco Jamar won a 2200m (mobile) workout by 12 lengths in 2.46.8, the last 800m in 55.5.
Franco Jamar has not raced since finishing fourth in the Harness Jewels at Cambridge on June 5.
He has won seven races and gained three minor placings from 12 starts this season.
His wins include the Southern Supremacy Stakes Final at Invercargill.
Few 3yr-olds have raced against older horses under ffa conditions at a high level.
Christian Cullen and Lordship are notable.
Christian Cullen won the $100,000 The Round Up (1950m) at Addington in November, 1997.
Brabham, winner of the New Zealand Free-For-All a week earlier, finished third.
Lordship won the Winter Free-For-All (2000m) at Addington in May, 1962.
Blue Prince, Master Alan and Samantha were among well-performed older horses in the beaten division.
Rangatua Ray, winner of the Rangiora Winter Cup on Sunday, has also been entered for the FFA on Thursday.
Hudson Hornet, winner of his two starts as a 3yr-old this season, has been sold to Australia.
The McArdle gelding won at Oamaru and Addington last month for trainer Brendon Hill and Cavalla Bloodstock.
Domino Bromac, who cleared maiden ranks at Forbury Park on Friday night, is a half-brother to Dustin Bromac.
The 3yr-old by Courage Under Fire is trained by Kirk Larsen, the leading Southland trainer this season with 26 wins.
Larsen trained Dustin Bromac (by Live Or Die) for his first win as a 3yr-old.
Dustin Bromac was then transferred to Cran Dalgety and has won another seven races.
Brian O'Connor, the owner-trainer of Kelly Evander, said he would try the mare again next season.
She is winless in 152 starts, including 34 this season.
Kelly Evander ended her 10yr-old season when she was stood down from racing for 28 days at the Forbury Park meeting last Friday.
She left her trotting gait twice during the race and finished last, 23 lengths from the winner.
"She just lost so much ground and she is not an easy horse to drive," O'Connor said.
He had given Jimmy Bond the drive. The New Zealand Racing Board has bought the Best Bets and Turf Digest form guides from Fairfax Media, NZPA reports.
The purchase would ensure TAB customers continued to have a twice-weekly form guide publication in a format they liked, board chief executive Andrew Brown said.
"Getting TAB customers the information they need is vital to our business performance," he said.
"Our customers must be able to use our services easily for the TAB to be profitable," he said.
The price was not disclosed.
