Racing: Four on end for Lets Talk Art

Lets Talk Art, who did not take kindly to being turned out after her previous start, recorded her fourth win on end yesterday at Oamaru.

Steve O'Brien, the owner-trainer of Lets Talk Art, put her aside for a spell after she won at Addington on July 16.

"I had intended that she be out for three weeks but she went berserk in the paddock after four days," O'Brien said.

She will now remain in work and take the opportunities available.

Lets Talk Art dashed away in the closing stages yesterday to win by three and three-quarter lengths.

• The owners of big winner Bondy, won the Kurow Cup yesterday with Onedin Crusader.

The 5yr-old Onedin Crusader is owned by Peter and Jocelyn Cates, of Ashburton, and their daughters Nikki Copland and Joanne Lovett.

Onedin Crusader, who was recording his seventh win, is trained at Ashburton by John Hay.

Bondy, the winner of 23 races and $776,000 in stakes, is trained by David and Catherine Butt.

Bondy included the Victoria Cup at Moonee Valley and the Hannon Memorial at Oamaru among his eight wins from 11 starts last season.

Bondy is progressing well in a fresh preparation.

He was spelled after finishing fourth in the Auckland Cup in March.

Houdini Star, the highly-performed trotter trained by Hay, will not be on hand for spring racing .

"He will be out for another four months. He has a problem with a foot that has caused him trouble before," Hay said.

Houdini Star was spelled in April after winning the National Trot at Alexandra Park and Trotters' Mile at Cambridge from 13 starts last season.

• Dreamit had his second win in as many starts in a fresh campaign.

He was put aside by trainer Leo O'Reilly in March after he developed a splint.

He resumed at Rangiora on July 17.

Raymauwarrhen Sun was gallant when finishing second, half a length from Dreamit yesterday.

He headed Dreamit in the lead at the 1500m after starting from 55m.

• Pattisun won a maiden trot yesterday for Kurow owner Ray Warwick, an assistant to the starter at the meeting.

Warwick bred Pattisun, a gelding by Sundon from the Straphanger mare, Miss Pattiwak, who won three races.

Pattisun, having his second start, is trained by Andrew Faulks.

Warwick raced Cockie, a trotter who won seven races, one for Bronwyn Arbuckle and six for Phil Williamson.

• Miami H continued his preparation for the Breeders' Crown on August 22 when he won at Bendigo on Saturday night.

The Derek Balle-trained trotter ran the 2150m (mobile) in a 2.00.7 mile rate.

The 2yr-old and 3yr-old repechages for trotters will be held at Bendigo on Thursday night.

The semifinals for 2 and 3yr-old pacers are at Melton the following night.
