Thelma Foley continued the winning form of her late partner, Peter South, with Imthejoker at Washdyke yesterday.

Foley took over the training of Imthejoker after South died in February. She had previously been involved with preparing Imthejoker and others in the stable.

Imthejoker, who was bred by Foley, won three races, all at Washdyke, when trained by South. She is working four horses, including Flying Frenchman and Sargent Dan.

Flying Frenchman won five races races before he was sidelined 12 months ago with a tendon injury. Sargent Dan has won two races.

Leading trainer Michael Pitman took his tally for the season to 98 when Vintner won yesterday. Vintner was ridden by stable apprentice Courtney Van Der Werf, who also won on Windwhistle yesterday. She has ridden 26 winners this season.

Windwhistle, trained at Washdyke by Mel and Warwick Coles, has thrived on racing. His two wins this season have come in his last four starts and the 3yr-old has raced 20 times since August.

Mystic Mint, the winner of two races, is an addition to the team Pitman is campaigning in Brisbane. Mystic Mint has been bought by Peter Scholes, a Christchurch veterinarian, who races Coup Overbaked and Our Mona Lisa from the Pitman stable. Pitman said he had also bought five yearlings in Queensland where he has been campaigning El Chico, Milo and Conscious Mistake.

"We have had no luck in Brisbane, but we have a rough show of beating the New Zealand record for wins in a season," he said.

The record is 108 wins set by Mark Walker last season. Pitman has surpassed his best total of 86 wins in the 2007-08 season when he led the premiership.

Lisa McKay was suspended for careless riding yesterday. McKay, riding Quantum Daf (race 2), admitted crowding Mantova and Silver Stars at the 1050m. She was suspended until midnight on July 3.

• The Marlborough Harness Racing Club meeting scheduled for yesterday was abandoned in the morning due to flooding of the track.

"A downpour mid-morning caused the problem," Barry Forbes, the secretary of the club, said.

"We were given the option of postponing until Monday but there would have been a problem with obtaining staff and the weather forecast was not good."

The Paeroa Racing Club meeting at Paeroa on Saturday was abandoned due to surface water on the track.

• Night Of The Stars, owned by Steve Thompson, of Dunedin, won an $A8000 race for 3yr-olds at Melton on Friday night. Night Of The Stars, now trained by Andy Gath, was exported two weeks earlier. He won four races when trained by Ken Barron.

• Kotare Yaakov, who has not raced since early March, won a workout at Motukarara on Saturday. The 3yr-old in the stable of Mark Purdon and Grant Payne, won his first two starts, both at Addington, in the spring.

His stablemate Fly Like An Eagle, winner of the 2yr-old division of the Harness Jewels, has returned to Australia.
