Electric Ollie, who is engaged at the Marlborough meeting today, is an addition to the Burnham stable of Mark Jones.
Electric Ollie joined the stable 10 days ago after being bought by Merv and Meg Butterworth, of Melbourne.
Electric Ollie won three races in Southland when trained there by Clark Barron.
The Washington VC 4yr-old was a winner two starts back at Ascot Park on May 19.
"I do not know a great deal about the horse but he arrived in perfect condition. It is a good race for him as a three-win horse against one-win horses," Jones said yesterday when travelling to Blenheim.
Jones also has Master Lavros, Princeton and Jellignite engaged today.
Master Lavros, the 3yr-old trotter, resumed racing with an easy win at Richmond Park on Sunday.
"He is a big horse and I would like to win another race with him and bring him back for the New Zealand Cup meeting," Jones said.
"He is really 18 months away from his best."
Jellignite and Princeton are in the Marlborough Cup Prelude.
"Princeton is racing out of his grade and Jellignite will not find it easy from a 20m handicap," Jones said.
Jellignite was a last-start winner at Ashburton on June 4 after starting from 10m.
Princeton, the winner of three races and assessed as a two-win horse, finished second the same day.
Princeton won at Waterlea 12 months ago.
