Dream Out Loud, an impressive first-up winner at Forbury Park last Thursday, has been entered for the Invercargill meeting on Saturday.

Dream Out Loud was credited in the official result with a time of 55.3 for his last 800m, which would have been sensational. It was amended yesterday to 58.3, still a respectable effort.

The 3yr-old Dream Out Loud is trained at Loburn by Steve Dolan, who bought him for $17,000 at the 2009 premier yearling sale. He took Gavin Chin, of Mosgiel, and Neil Struthers, of Lyttleton, into the ownership.

This was further rearranged last week and Dream Out Loud is now raced in a lease agreement by Messrs Chin and Struthers, Stu Dyer and Vanessa Jamieson, of Rangiora, Judy Stack and Wayne Milligan, of Christchurch.

Chin had inspected Dream Out Loud as a yearling before the sale when the colt was offered by breeder Brian West.

Dream Out Loud is by Bettor's Delight and the sixth foal of Nothin But A Dreamer. Her first foal, Beyond A Dream (by Beach Towel), won in Australia and the United States.

• Regal Petite is due to have her first start from the stable of Cran Dalgety in the New Zealand Trotting Stakes for 2yr-olds at Addington on Friday night.

The daughter of Majestic Son and Petite's Pride has won at Alexandra Park and Cambridge when trained by Pukekohe owner Paulette Screen.

Regal Petite is a $2.50 favourite with the New Zealand TAB for the Harness Jewels at Ashburton on June 4.

Carabella is the shortest-priced favourite in the opening market for the Harness Jewels.

She is at $1.80 for the 3yr-old filly division.

Smiling Shard, who is in the Taylor Mile at Alexandra Park on Friday night, is at $2.20 for the 4yr-old division for male pacers.

King Kenny, a $3 favourite for the 3yr-old trotter division, is in the Sires' Stakes Championship at Alexandra Park on Friday night. He will be driven by Mark Jones, with Anthony Butt on stablemate Thanesan.

Kylie Ree, the top stake-earner among the 3yr-old trotters this season, has been sidelined with a tendon injury.

The Victorian-trained Sushi Sushi, winner of the Great Northern Derby, is not contesting the Harness Jewels, states Harness Racing New Zealand.

His connections have decided to concentrate on races in Australia.

• Ardghal, back with Winton trainers Roger and Katrina Price, won a 1700m workout by five lengths at Invercargill on Sunday, the last 800m in 57.4. He has been entered for the meeting there on Saturday.

Jumpforjoy continued her preparation for the Southland Oaks on Saturday when she finished second, a length from Dudinka's Christian over 2200m, the last 800m in 57.6.

Billy Ray, who has not raced for three and a-half months, won his workout from a 30m handicap. The Wayne Adams-trained trotter has not finished further back than third in six starts.

Rhuben, the 2yr-old who won at his first start yesterday at Washdyke, is a half-brother by Bettor's Delight to Miss Bubbles (nine wins).

• The talented pacer Trigirl Brigade has been retired.

"There are just no suitable races for her," Andrew Neal, her Cambridge co-trainer, said.

Trigirl Brigade, a rising 7yr-old, won seven races, including the group three Northern Breeders' Stakes in 2008. She ran second, beaten a length by Kiwi Ingenuity in the 2009 Harness Jewels as a 4yr-old when the winner recorded a New Zealand mile race record of 1.52.1.

• Eion Latimer, the former Tomahawk horseman, who is now residing in Oamaru, trained Vic N Art to win at Washdyke yesterday.

The Captain Rufus 4yr-old was having his second start for Latimer.

The gelding recorded one win in 17 starts from the Invercargill stable of Alan Paisley.
