Crawford (18), better known as Minnie, has worked at the the Roxburgh stables of Geoff and Jude Knight for the past two years.
The Lawrence native gained her trials driving licence last week, but she can also take much of the credit for the maiden success of Duchesse De L'Amour in the c0 mobile trot at Forbury Park last night.
The mare requires a training regime to which she likes to stick that includes parking up against the outside fence at Roxburgh.
''She's got a little routine and pattern she goes through and if she gets that all together, then she's good,'' Geoff Knight said.
Duchesse De L'Amour was tried by trainers Nigel McGrath, Michael Purdon, and Jonny Cox and Amber Hoffman before the Knights took over this year.
''She had a few issues and Minnie sorted them out by riding her and sussing out the horse, basically. It's a huge effort from Minnie.''
