Seasprite is a 4yr-old mare by Postponed and the last of 10 foals left by Whey To Go, winner of the 1993 Canterbury Gold Cup when trained by Jon Sargent. The leading trainer this season, Sargent took his tally to 104 wins when Vincitore was successful yesterday.
Seasprite and My Latte are trained by John and Karen Parsons.
Seasprite is raced by Stan Jones, of Mossburn. His wife, Bev, races O'Cartier, the winner of 16 races and $442,000 from the Parsons stable.
Mr Jones bought Seasprite as an unraced 3yr-old at the South Island sale.
My Latte is raced by Ohoka breeders Ron and Diane Dalley. The My Halo 3yr-old is the third foal of Vilatte, who won two races for the Dalleys from the Parsons stable. Her first two foals, a My Halo filly and a Coats Choice colt, died.
Mr Dalley is in the ownership of One Hot Lady, a winner at Alexandra Park on Friday night. One Hot Lady is trained by Mike Stormont.
Mr Dalley raced the pacer Cup Day with Don Percy, who died. Cup Day won seven races including the Invercargill and Ashburton Cups.

Kunte Kinte, who was having his first start, is a big 3yr-old by Duelled from Cherry Tango, by Fuji Kiseki from Confederate Lady, a Blue Diamond Prelude winner and half-sister to Subzero, winner of the 1992 Melbourne Cup, an Adelaide Cup and South Australian Derby.
Kunte Kinte was a $4000 purchase at a Ready To Run sale by Champion and Jackie Jones, a Wingatui owner-trainer.
It was the third win for Cybele, an $1100 weanling purchase by Champion and Murphy.
Vincitore ran a track record of 1.20.69 for the 1400m, lowering the mark of 1.21.5 set by Yachtsman in August, 2008.
Several horses were unsuited by a firm track yesterday.
Natadola Bay injured a knee and was pulled up after leading to the 350m in race 4.
La Gee was showing soreness after finishing at the rear of the field in race 3 and trainer Steve Anderton told stewards she had finished racing.
