Aluminium Bikerack is attempting to repeat a feat of 31 years ago by winning the Miss Scenicland Stakes as a 3yr-old at Hokitika today.
Fantan is the only 3yr-old to win the Westland Racing Club weight-for-age feature for fillies and mares over 1645m.
The race was run in November when Fantan was successful as a 3yr-old with 48kg.
The daughter of Namnan was ridden by J.
Whatling and trained at Riccarton by Barry Taggart, who raced her with Phil Bayly.
Aluminium Bikerack, who won the 1800m race for 3 and 4yr-olds at Kurow at her last start, is trained by Michael Pitman.
He has won the Miss Scenicland four times, the first in 1986 with Nomusa.
