Muniandy has been on holiday in Penang for a month since riding Renee Maree in two wins at Wingatui.
Renee Maree (race 7) has subsequently had two two starts for a third at Oamaru and a sixth at Ashburton with Jay Misbah the rider.
"Shankar is back on to get the 2kg allowance," Brian Anderton, the co-trainer of Renee Maree, said.
"She has 58kg and not many mares can carry more than 57kg."
Muniandy has ridden Renee Maree seven times and also had four minor placings on the Danzighill mare.
Zman Zukifli is also back riding today after a holiday.
He will renew his association with Halobelle, who is starting fresh in the open 1200m.
She was sidelined after bleeding in a race at Wingatui in November.
Zukifli rode Halobelle to win an open sprint at Gore in January 2009.
Halobelle won first up as a 2yr-old at Oamaru four years ago but she has tended to need a race or two in subsequent campaigns when resuming.
Amelia Denby has been ruled out of riding today as she has influenza.
She has been replaced on Lotus (race 10) by Centaine Spittles, who can claim 2kg.
Lotus is high on the list of fancies after a last-start second to Aronsay at Washdyke.
Her mentor Michael Pitman said Denby would miss the rides on Remembrance, Dior's Gold, Typhoon Warning and Star Miss.
Pitman has welcomed the announcement by the Moonee Valley Racing Club that short-distant sprint races will be over 955m, rather than 1000m.
Pitman has a Melbourne spring campaign planned for the sprinter Coup Align.
"He is a very quick horse and the shorter distance can only be in his favour," Pitman said.
"The club is also awarding a $55,000 car to the trainer of the horse who records the fastest time over 955m during the season."
The Moonee Valley club will stage 18 night meetings next season.
The group one races, the Manikato Stakes and William Reid Stakes, will be run at night.
