The in-form jockey Lisa Allpress is the new rider for Fritzy Boy when he resumes racing in the $200,000 Mudgway Stakes at Hastings on Saturday.
Allpress has taken an early lead in the jockeys' premiership with 11 wins in the first month of the new season.
Fritzy Boy won the Mudgway (weight-for-age 1400m) in 2008 in the hands of Noel Harris.
Fritzy Boy finished ninth last year.
Fritzy Boy has won fresh up in the spring in each of his campaigns at three, four and five.
He has not raced since early June.
He was having his second start as a 4yr-old when successful in the Mudgway.
Seachange won the Mudgway in 2006 and 2007.
Catering King won the equivalent race in 1986 and 1989 when it was known as the Byerley Thoroughbred Stakes.
Co-trainer Debbie Rogerson has announced that Katie Lee will bypass the Mudgway due to the rain-affected track.
Katie Lee, the top 3yr-old filly of last season, also missed the Foxbridge Plate on August 14 due to a wet track.
Her connections are now viewing a 1200m race at Ruakaka on September 11 to start her afresh.
That would be a lead up to the Rose Of Kingston Stakes (1400m) in Melbourne.
Shamrox, an impressive last-start winner at Oamaru on July 28. is back there on Friday with an additional trainer.
