Ajaye ran 2000m (mobile) in 2.29.9 and won his test by two lengths. He was 6.3sec inside the required time. He is a gelding by Bettor's Delight from Long May She Reign, trained by David and Catherine Butt.
The filly, Adore Me, qualified in 2.30.8 when she won the heat for 2yr-olds in 2.30.8. The daughter of Bettor's Delight-Scuse Me is trained by Mark Purdon and Grant Payne.
Franco Nelson, who is set to resume racing at the Timaru meeting, won his heat yesterday in 2.33.2. Franco Nelson has not raced since he won the Welcome Stakes at Addington in March. He won his other start at Addington the same month.
Theycallmesam, who is engaged at Addington on Friday night, won the main heat for trotters. He has won his last three starts for trainers Philippa Wakelin and Stephen Noble.
Te Kinga Boy, now trained by John Howe and an an acceptor at Timaru, won the main heat for pacers. Te Kinga Boy has been off the winning list in 16 starts since he won at Washdyke in December, 2010 when trained by Russell Kennedy.
• Luke McCarthy has been declared to drive Castellina Lover in the Queensland Oaks at Albion Park on Saturday. The filly is now trained by John McCarthy.
The Royal Charger, who has been placed in his three starts in Auckland following a win at Addington, has been transferred to Cambridge trainer, Sean McCaffrey.
Miss Boomschukalucka, the winner of three races from the Rangiora stable of Ross Rennie, has been exported to Australia.
• Smoken Up resumes racing in a $A20,000 free-for-all at Melton on Friday night with trainer Lance Justice back in ther sulky. Justice fractured his legs in a race accident six months ago.
Jaccka Clive, winner of four of his last five starts, all at Melton, is among the rivals for Smoken Up.
Jaccka Clive (Tinted Cloud-Cabsav Jaccka), bred by Charlie Smaill, of Riversdale, has won 28 races and $216,000 in Australia. He won a race at Richmond Park from three starts in New Zealand when trained by Brent Lilley.
• Six flat races scheduled for Sandown today have been transferred to Kilmore because of wet weather.
The three jumps races on the programme have been abandoned but an extra meeting will be held at Warrnambool on Saturday.
The $100,000 Thackeray Steeplechase and the $100,000 Kevin Lafferty Hurdle, which were abandoned at Warrnambool on Sunday, have been reinstated to a seven-race card.
Four jumps races and three flat events will be staged.
Craig Newitt and Luke Nolen have riding engagements at Kilmore. Newitt is one win ahead in the Melbourne premiership with nine meetings remaining.
