Purvis’ book is headed by progressive Alister Black-trained 3yr-old Kilowatt Kid in race 10.
"I drove him at the trials earlier on; he is a lovely 3yr-old with plenty of upside," the driver said.
Purvis drove Miss Moppet to a runaway victory at Invercargill earlier this month and is hopeful the trotter can be as competitive again in race 4.
"She has got a big motor. She jogged it the other day when winning and she would have to be another great chance again."
Purvis starts his day by driving I’mallaboutthebase in race 2 and does not think her outside-of-the-front-row draw should put her backers off.
"She has got good gate speed and is tough enough to make her own luck.
"Her last trial at Winton, I was really rapt with her. She really ran a good last [800m] and was strong through the line.‘‘I would say she would give a bold showing."
Purvis drives the consistent Alister Black-trained Ossessione in today’s feature, the Wairio Cup.
The race is headed by last year’s winner, Franco Tai, and Westwood Beach pacer Hopes And Dreams.Purvis also drives Bettor Option in race 3 and Bettor B Ready in race 5.
The driver has scored back-to-back wins in recent weeks with smart Nathan Williamson-trained pacer Born To Run.The horse is expected to line up at the next Winton meeting on December 31, Purvis said.
"He is a really nice youngster and he is stepping up and doing everything we ask him to do.
"He has probably got the ability to deserve a chance to take on the better 3yr-olds.
"But we will just take it each day at a time with him, and he will tell us when he is ready."
• The Central Otago Cup just got a lot harder to win for Southern pacers.
Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen’s All Stars stable has indicated New Zealand Cup week star The Fixer will target the January 2 event.
After delivering two crushing wins in junior free-for-all company over the carnival, the horse was being considered for the Auckland Cup.
However, Purdon and Rasmussen have confirmed the horse will now target the group 3 feature at Omakau. The horse will be joined by stablemates Funatthebeach, Major Shard and Duplicated, who will also target races at the meeting.Purdon and Rasmussen already have a vice-like grip on the Auckland Cup with the favourite, Vincent, and second-equal favourites Titan Banner and Heaven Rocks.
