Striking Dash, who won at Addington yesterday, will back up at Rangiora on Sunday.

He gave Ron and Marie Dawe, of Fernside, their first win as owners.

They claimed Striking Dash for $3500 at his previous start and transferred the 7yr-old to trainer Phil Burrows.

Striking Dash was not claimed yesterday.

Striking Dash has now won seven races.

He will be eligible for a one win-race at Rangiora through carrying a $3500 claiming price.

• Big Mac D continued his preparation for the Forbury Park meeting on Friday night with a trial win there yesterday.

Big Mac D led early after starting from 10m.

He gave way to Darv Habben at the 1600m and dashed two lengths clear over the closing stages.

• Lord Forbes was left in the care of Templeton trainer Margot Nyhan after his win at Addington last Friday.

Lord Forbes is back under the direction of Invercargill owner Gavin Forbes after winning his last three starts for Ray Faithful.

"There is another race for him at Addington in a fortnight and I will leave him up there and travel up each week," Forbes said.

"Ray is just too busy to take him back and forth."

It was the fifth win this season for Lord Forbes from 25 starts.

The 3yr-old began his 3yr-old campaign with a win at Invercargill in August.

• Da Ginstir is now trained by Kirk Larsen at Branxholme.

Da Ginstir, who has not raced since December, won two races when prepared by Laurence Hanrahan.

• The general manager of Harness Racing New Zealand has withdrawn comments after stipendiary stewards pursued the matter to employment mediation.

Edward Rennell withdrew the comments which referred to a race being run over the incorrect distance at Omakau on January 2.

Paul Knowles, the stipendiary steward in charge of the meeting and his assistant Chris Allison, sought to have the comments withdrawn.

Mr Rennell withdrew his comments in a letter to the editor of the official harness racing publication, the NZ Harness Racing Weekly.
