Dickie has top drives in Neville Vaughan and Bobbiemack. Neville Vaughan has won his last four starts, all at Alexandra Park. Dickie has driven him in three of those wins.
Neville Vaughan, who is off a 55m handicap, has won his last two starting from 40m behind.
Burano, a stablemate of Neville Vaughan with Kevin Townley, is a fresh rival tonight, off 30m.
Burano, who is making his first appearance at Alexandra Park, has won five races this season.
Dickie drove Bobbiemack to a last-start win.
Dickie (20) has retained the Australasian Young Drivers title after a successful appeal against a suspension.
He was suspended for excessive use of the whip and fined $400 after winning the final race in the series on Wilusi Blues at Ashburton on June 6. A suspension would have ruled him out of securing the title.
Dickie had the suspension quashed and the fine increased to $750 after an appeal to the Judicial Control Authority.
The JCA representatives were Murray McKechnie and Bryan Scott.
Rob Lawson, representing Dickie, said it would have cost his client $1200 in fines and lost driving fees. Lawson is particularly concerned that the $250 filing fee for an appeal is not refundable after a successful appeal.
Nick Ydgren, the stipendiary steward at the Ashburton meeting, said the rules governing the series were not known to the participants at the original hearing.
McKechnie said that had all parties been informed, a suspension would not have been sought and in all probability would not have been imposed "Nobody was responsible for this state of affairs. It is simply an unfortunate oversight from which lessons will doubtless be learned," he said.
