Anvil On Fire, a member of the Weedons stable of Nigel McGrath, has not raced since June, but she won fresh-up at Oamaru last season.
That was among her six wins as 3yr-old.
She won two heats of the Sires' Stakes for 3yr-old fillies at Addington and finished second to Meredith Maguire, who ran 1.55.7 for the mile at Ashburton.
Elation Franco is the best-performed horse in the field as the winner of seven races.
She ran fourth in this race last year when Telemecanique was the winner from Beaudiene Bad Babe.
Bonnie Harvest has not raced for 10 months but she won over a mile in 1.55.7 at Winton in February at her last appearance.
It was a track record for a mare.
She is drawn to lead.
Ready Set, a stablemate of Anvil On Fire, is attempting his fourth win on end in race 4.
The trotter won at Addington on Thursday in a 2.00 mile rate for 1950m (mobile), suggesting he will be too speedy for his rivals today.
Montecrengle, who had two wins and two seconds in five starts as a 3yr-old last season, resumes in race 5.
He won first-up at Winton in April and his other win was there in May.
He is trained on the track by Lauren Pearson.
• Close Shave is the only horse in contention for the $10,000 West Coast bonus after completing a double for the Westport meeting yesterday.
Close Shave would collect the bonus if successful at Reefton tomorrow.
"We haven't decided if he will start in the Reefton Cup. It is a big step up.
"We will discuss it with the owners," said Nina Hope, the co-trainer of Close Shave with her husband, Greg.
Close Shave qualified at Addington on December 1 and he was having his first race on Sunday.
Close Shave is raced by his Rangiora breeders, John and Sandra Blackadder, and Peter and Lynne Stephenson.
A 4yr-old by Mach Three, he is the fourth winner from as many foals to race out of Exotic Maid.
The unraced Smooth Fella mare is also the dam of Hint Of A Tint, Spirit Of Oaks and Light Showers. The Hopes took 10 horses to the West Coast and they also won yesterday with Eaglehurst and Miracle Mach.
Eaglehurst had finished third on Sunday at her first start.
Eaglehurst is a 3yr-old filly by The Big Dog from Amber Loafer, raced by her Sydney breeder, Graeme O'Connor.
Amber Loafer has also left Stefano, who was exported to Australia after winning a race for the Hope stable at Waikouaiti last year.
• Trainer Mark Purdon is surprised an Australian bookmaker has Auckland Reactor equal favourite in the opening market for the Interdominion in March, The New Zealand Herald reports.
Sportsbetting.com.au has Auckland Reactor as the $5 equal favourite with Mr Feelgood for the series in Christchurch.
Monkey King and Themightyquinn are on the second line at $6.
"I can't believe that. He is coming up nicely but there is no guarantee we are going to see him back to his best," Purdon said.
Auckland Reactor has not raced since June.
He ran fourth from three starts in the United States this year.
He has since had a throat operation.
The winner of 24 of his 27 starts in New Zealand, Auckland Reactor has been back in work with Purdon for eight weeks.
The New Zealand TAB will not be opening a market until early February.
