Alchemy, who has had a short spell, won a work-out by six and a-half lengths at Ashburton yesterday. Alchemy, the winner of his last five starts, was spelled for two weeks after he raced at Addington on July 30.

"We were very happy with him and he will go to a two win-race at Addington next week," Richard Aubrey, his Dunsandel co-trainer, said.

Alchemy ran the 2400m (mobile) in 3.02.6 yesterday, the last 800m in 55.9 and 400m in 25.7.

Vladimir The Great, an unqualified 3yr-old stablemate of Alchemy, won a 2400m workout in 3.12.8 from a standing start.

Running On Time, who has not raced since April, came off a 30m handicap to win a workout for trotters by a neck from MC Blizzard. Running On Time (10 wins) recorded 3.07.6.

MC Blizzard won a maiden trot at Rangiora in January.

• Run Courage Run and Clifton Anna left Southland yesterday en route to join the Foxton trainer Peter Scaife whose stable has been depleted.

Run Courage Run has won three of his six starts for Invercargill trainer Gil Shirley.

"Brent [Shirley] feels the horse will be better suited racing the Auckland way round," Scaife said.

Clifton Anna is a maiden pacer.

Shades Of Success, George Skipper and Lord Patrol were claimed at Alexandra Park on September 10 when Scaife trained the first four home in the claiming race.

The Go Forward ran fourth.

The first two went to Graeme Rogerson and Lord Patrol to Derek Balle and Owen Gillies.

Balancing Act has been transferred from Scaife to Todd Mitchell at Cambridge.

Panspacificflight, whose frozen semen will be available at Macca Lodge next month, has sired a 1.52 mile winner from his first crop in the United States.

The winner, Paco Labrook, won at Indiana Downs on Tuesday.

• Panspacificflight is also the sire of Flight Elal, winner of a sires stakes final.

A Panspacificflight filly, Northern Anne, has won a $US40,000 race.

He is eighth on the list of 2yr-old sires.

Panspacificflight (by Pondersoa) took a record of 1.53 at two and 1.50.3 at three.

"It is the first venture with frozen semen on our own," said Brent McIntyre, the co-owner of Macca Lodge with his wife, Sheree.

The Riversdale establishment handles chilled and frozen semen for other stallions, mainly those on the roster at Nevele R Stud, Prebbleton.

The majority of mares in New Zealand are bred by artificial insemination.

The semen of Panspacificflight is now being frozen in Texas.

It will be flown to Christchurch and transported to Macca Lodge as required.
