She was one of 28 athletes from around the South Island to take part in the championships.
No major records were broken but there were plenty of first-time competitors having a go.
Winton lifter Bronwyn Stevens was the top lifter with a score of 398.76 points.
Second was Tom Hart, of Dunedin, with 384.63 points. In third place was Bernard O'Sullivan, also of Dunedin, with a score of 378.72 points.
The emphasis was on setting qualifying marks for the national championships, which will be in Auckland in September.
The Otago Olympic-style weightlifting championships will take place this Saturday.
