Three Dunedin swimmers are set to compete on the world stage.

Erika Fairweather, Caitlin Deans and Ruby Heath have all been confirmed as part of the New Zealand team to swim at this year’s world championships in Budapest.

All had qualified at the national championships earlier this month, although their selections were confirmed by Swimming New Zealand just this week.

Fairweather will attend her second championships, having also raced at the 2019 event.

It follows her successful Olympic campaign in which she made the final of the 400m freestyle.

She will compete in that again, as well as the 200m freestyle, 4x200m freestyle relay and the 4x100m mixed freestyle relay.

Deans qualified off the back of a stunning 1500m freestyle swim at the national championships.

She will compete in both that and the 4x200m freestyle relay.

Heath will compete in the open water race, having shown her prowess in the discipline in recent years.

The championships begin on June 18 and run until July 3.
