Cardinals held their nerve in a thrilling tiebreaker to beat Ellis Park Maroon 11-10 in the Dunedin senior competition on Saturday.

Boe Carlson got to second base on a wild pitch and scored when Richard Hunt hit pitcher Krizevac Tuitea for a double.

In the tiebreaker, Doug Hill put down a bunt and made it to first on an error while Simon Maole advanced from second to third base.
