Five teams have headed away with their eyes on the prize at the interprovincial championships, getting under way in Napier today.
The teams, competing in the under-17 women’s, under-17 men’s, under-19 women’s, under-19 men’s and under-23 men’s grades, will be hoping to go one better than last year.
Otago won bronze in the under-19 men’s grade last year, and Spencer Campbell and Stanley Paipuke were named in the under-19 men’s tournament side.
Players received their tops at a special presentation at the Edgar Centre earlier this week.
Former Otago volleyballer Maddy Campbell spoke at the event about her time playing college volleyball in the United States.
