Louisa Davis (Queenstown) and Glen Currie (Christchurch) won the women's and men's individual titles in the North Face Peak to Peak multisport race in the Wakatipu on Saturday.
The race involves racing from the top of the Remarkables ski area to the Coronet Peak base area on skis, mountain and road bikes, kayaks and on foot.
Davis had a clear win in the women's individual section, clocking 2hr 45min 14sec, ahead of Christchurch's Rebecca Rae in 2:52.19.
Currie won the men's title comfortably in 2:21.39, ahead of Phil Wood, of Wanaka, who finished in 2:23.11.
Former Olympic cyclist Glenn McLeay showed his skills on the biking legs and was third-fastest, slightly more than 1min behind in 2:24.36.
The first veteran woman was Samantha Wright, of Queenstown, in 3:12.37.
Ray Hope, of Dunedin, successfully defended his 2007 title to win the veteran men's section in 2:34.38.
The Mob (Christchurch) bumped last year's defending champion, Physio Med Pain Management, into second place in the open team category.
The Mob recorded 2:08.47, Physio Med 2:13.57, with Queenstown's R&R Sport team third in 2:14.34.
Four Hounds and a Fox, of Queenstown, won the mixed teams race, clocking a time of 2:20.09.
St Kevins Gold, of Oamaru, came home first in the secondary schools section in 2:31.14.
A record field of 97 teams and 51 individuals took part.
