Motocross: 'Off day' for King in fourth round still yields three placings

Campbell King (17) was having "one of those off days" on Sunday at the fourth round of the Southern Moto-X Series at Lee Stream - but still managed three second places.

The Brighton rider was getting used to his newly acquired Honda 250cc in the Senior Pro class andcould not quite catch leader Andy Blanchard, of Christchurch.

Mosgiel District Motorcycle Club hosted the event at a member's Lee Stream property and of the 132 riders, president Mike Palmer picked out a few Otago riders worthy of notice. Outram's Ross McNeill is leading the intermediate class, with Dunedin's Brayden Palmer in third place.

In the under-12s class, Dunedin's Grason Veitch is second overall.

The fifth and final roundof the series will be held in Balclutha on November 19.
