Ana Moceyawa and Brahm Richards are two of about 100 wrestlers set to compete for national titles at the Edgar Centre over the next two days.
The pair both represented New Zealand on the Gold Coast earlier this year and will be in action in Dunedin on Saturday.
Moceyawa made her Games debut in the women's 57kg freestyle category and was a bronze medallist in last year's Commonwealth Championships.
Richards also made his Games debut in the men's 65kg freestyle category, just months after his first senior competition.
The championships - in their 88th year - begin at 10am tomorrow with the 10-13 years and junior freestyle, along with the senior greco-roman.
On Saturday the cadet and senior freestyle will be held, as will the junior greco-roman.
The event is being hosted by the Taieri wrestling club in conjunction with its 75th jubilee.
It will have a dinner which will double as the event's prizegiving tomorrow night.
