University Albion A has a chance to go back-to-back.

But a tough Physed A side will be up for the challenge.

University Albion A and Physed A will face each other in the Dunedin premier netball final at the Edgar Centre this afternoon.

It will be a big clash between the two, who have set the benchmark throughout the season to get to this point.

When their backs are against the wall, University Albion have always been able to find a way through.

They came back from being nine goals down to beat Columba College 40-36 in last year’s final — but there have been changes since then.

They have also worked through the absence of Southern Blast shooter Ella Southby, who has been out through injury.

Neve Beattie has plugged that gap nicely and worked with Grace Southby to keep things ticking along.

Neve Graamans, who captained Columba last year when they won the South Island secondary school title, has also been a good addition in the midcourt.

Earlier this month University Albion, coached by Janine Southby and Jill Mitchell-Larrivee, edged Physed A 52-50 and will lean on that confidence.

They come into the final on the back of a hard-fought 52-47 win against club-mates University Albion B in their semifinal, while Physed A beat College A 58-54.

Physed A, coached by Kirstin Scully and Nicki Paterson, were sublime in that performance with their shooting end of Meleitia Tatupu and Charlotte Underwood-Nicol on fire.

They only missed four goals between them the entire game and will need that form as they come up against University.

Della Vining is a known ball winner as well for Physed and has Southern Blast experience, as does Gemma Rowcroft and Millie Hassall.
