The Southern Steel dominated in the first half to complete its unbeaten season in Invercargill.
The team beat the Central Pulse 69-53 in the ANZ Premiership final on Wednesday night to claim the trophy in the competition's inaugural season.
After an intense start, the Steel got its game going halfway through the first quarter.
It opened the score gap to four points, at 10-6, before its defence took over.
A landslide finish to the quarter saw it lead 18-10 at the first break - a margin the Pulse was always going to struggle to return from.
It continued in the same manner as it emerged for the second quarter, leading 21-10 before the Pulse fought back.
That was always going to be tough to come back from and while it did not lie down, the Pulse was always playing catch-up.
It managed just 10 goals again in the second quarter, the Steel leading 35-20 at halftime, the game all but won at that point.
By the end of the third quarter that was 55-38, the Pulse playing its best quarter of the night, but still unable to contain the Steel attack.
