However, perhaps it is not a secret that the star English shooter has found a second home in the south of New Zealand.
The impact she has made on the Southern Steel in her first two seasons has been undeniable.
She would love to make that a third — provided the team wants her back.
If missing out on the playoffs was a disappointment, her presence would surely be a boost to Steel fans.
"I can’t be letting out any secrets, but I’d love to," Fisher (23) said.
"I love playing for the Steel. I’ve had a lot of fun this year. I had a lot of fun last year. So if they’ll have me, then yep."
Fisher acknowledged it had been a tough season, given the impact Covid-19 had on the Steel.
The team had been in a flow before its outbreak, but the after-effects and the condensed schedule made it tough to bounce back.
It had not been all bad, though.
Fisher said the team had learnt a lot from it and that would be beneficial going forward.
She had learnt plenty individually as well, although they were different lessons in her second year.
"Last year it was a new style and that was kind of the learning I was taking.
"I came in this year knowing what to expect and teams knowing what to expect of me. I think that’s been a different sort of learning.
"I’ve been shown different kind of defences playing against me, that I haven’t experienced before — double marking and also having to step up and take a bit more accountability for my own play.
"So different sorts of learnings this year, but still loads, which has been really cool."
Fisher’s class was obvious through it all.
Her 562 goals lead the ANZ Premiership with one match to go, while her 93% accuracy is equal-best with Aliyah Dunn.
Twice she cracked 50 goals — a mark she reached just once a year ago.
Aside from Jhaniele Fowler, who regularly put up those numbers, only Jennifer O’Connell’s 53-goal haul against the Magic in 2018 has matched that for the Steel.
There were a handful of quiet ones in there, though, which Fisher was less thrilled with.
"Some of the games I’ve been really happy with and I’ve stepped up. Then some games I’ve not been so proud of.
"I really get annoyed with myself when I miss shots. If I miss five in a game, that’s not good enough. So definitely a lot to improve on."
The Steel has one more game left this season, against the Magic in Hamilton this afternoon.
From there Fisher has not made any plans.
However, a trip home could be on the cards in July, at least.
The Birmingham Commonwealth Games loom and she has a good chance of being part of the defending champion England Roses squad.
She was not overthinking selection too much, though.
"I think the more I’m coming to the close of our Steel season it’s a bit more present in my mind.
"It is what it is. I’ll either make it, or I won’t. That’s just sport.
"It’s there, but I’ve done as much as I can. So we shall see."
