They beat Phys Ed Blue 69-56, both teams searching for their first win since being promoted from premier B grade halfway through the Dunedin club netball season.
It had been closer than that most of the way, however.
Holding a six-point lead at the final break, South Pac Titans started and finished the fourth quarter strongly, winning it 21-14.
The shooting combination of Sarona Fruean and Kelly Laurence proved deadly for South Pac Titans.
Their connection proved strong, passing well between each other to create good shots close to the goal.
Laurence, in particular, impressed with her ability to operate at speed and on the move.
The duo combined to finish at a rate of 90%, Laurence scoring on 19 of her 20 attempts and Fruean making 50 of her 57.
That forced Phys Ed to be accurate at the other end and while it was reasonably solid, its finishing rate of 75% was not going to be enough.
It looked to feed the ball to former Silver Fern Jo Morrison at goal shoot.
She provided a big target and showed she remains a classy player, capable of shooting from further out.
That attracted the attention of the defence, helping to open up goal attack Lucy Kingsbury closer to the goal.
It was a tactic that had helped keep the game close for the first three quarters, too.
Every time one team threatened to pull away, the other would edge back, errors preventing either from exerting its dominance.
South Pac Titans led 16-13 at the end of the first quarter, extending that to 31-27 at halftime.
It took its lead to 48-42 at the end of the third quarter and then started strongly in the fourth to take the game away from Phys Ed.
South Pac Titans centre Dora Nafatali was energetic and proved disruptive on defence.
She came up with several intercepts, while defender Waipryor McLeod was strong in the circle and rebounded well.
For Phys Ed, centre Kate Thompson was prominent throughout on both attack and defence.
In the other game played at the weekend, Phys Ed A beat University Albion A 69-45.
