The wing attack had been nursing a calf strain but aggravated it during a training session on Friday and was forced to watch the Steel's 48-47 win over the Tactix in Christchurch on Saturday from the sideline.
But Steel physiotherapist Jenny Ferguson is confident Wilson's troubled left calf will be fine for the Magic game.
"It's a minor calf tear which has just been a bit tight and niggly," Ferguson said.
"Unfortunately, she felt a bit of pain there again during training, so we decided to rest it and give her a bit of time because we don't play the Magic until Monday.
"She's got a good week to let it settle down and recover properly so it does not keep happening."
Ferguson saw Wilson yesterday morning and said she had made good progress.
As a precaution, though, Wilson is unlikely to train until Thursday or even Sunday.
The former Silver Ferns captain has been in sparkling form since returning from a year off to start a family.
In her absence, Canterbury's Silver Fern duo of Julie Seymour and Maree Bowden seized control of the midcourt battle.
But some superb shooting by Daneka Wipiiti and a crucial turnover by Sheryl Scanlan saw the Steel snatch victory in the final minutes of the southern derby.
