"Our attack was very sharp ... our timing was really good and, defensively, we were very good throughout the court," she responded.
From early on in the fixture it was apparent her side was too skilful for the Steel.
The home side started with a loose pass and the gap between the two sides grew from there.
The Firebirds' midcourt of Lauren Nourse, Sarah Wall and Clare McMeniman were simply too quick for the Steel combination of Wendy Frew, Liana Barrett-Chase and Erika Burgess.
They kept tight control on possession and hustled on defence, making it hard for the Steel to move the ball up court.
Classy goal attack Natalie Medhurst asserted herself in the game with some superb shooting and wonderful passing.
She proved the perfect foil for Jamaican shooter Romelda Aiken who, at 1.96m, was a handful for the Steel defence.
Medhurst's decision to join the Firebirds this season sparked optimism in the franchise.
In the past, the Brisbane-based team relied heavily on Aiken, but with Medhurst's arrival the team has a better balance on attack.
"Every week, [Aiken and Medhurst] are getting a better understanding of each other's game," Jencke said.
"I think the whole attack end is improving and developing that understanding of where to put the ball to each other."
The Firebirds made a slow start to the ANZ Championship, registering three consecutive losses.
But in the past two weeks they have bounced back with a 71-54 demolition of the Northern Mystics in Brisbane and impressed again last night, outclassing the Steel.
They now return to Brisbane for a game against benchmark side the Melbourne Vixens.
