The 21-year-old, who is heading to the Northern Mystics next season, will play for the New Zealand side at the Fast5 World Series in Melbourne on October 28-29.
She is one of just two returning players from the side which won last year's title, its sixth in the competition's seven-year history.
The other to return is former Steel defender Storm Purvis, who will captain the side.
Hume will have competition for a shooter's spot, with Silver Ferns Maia Wilson and Monica Faulkner also included.
Ameliaranne Ekenasio is also in the squad, as she makes her return after having a baby this year.
In the midcourt, the experienced Kayla Cullen joins new Silver Fern Whitney Souness and Erikana Pedersen.
Temalisi Fakahokatau and Zoe Walker, both of the Mainland Tactix, join Purvis in the defensive circle.
Coach Kiri Wills, who helped the New Zealand under-21 side to a world championship gold medal, was hoping the team could play an exciting style of netball.
''We've selected an exciting mix of players who will bring plenty of speed, flair and creativity,'' Wills said.
''Fast5 is an exciting product and that's how we'll be hoping to play we're going over there to win the title.
''The atmosphere at Fast5 is amazing. The Kiwi supporters really get behind us and get into the spirit of the event. We can't wait.''
