College A overcame University-Albion B with a convincing 62-42 win as the Dunedin premier club competition resumed after a long break on Saturday.

College A led 14-11 at the first break and continued to push ahead with the halftime score sitting at 29-25.

Brenna Lyons was dominant in the shooting circle for College, scoring 10 out of 10 attempts at goal for a 100% shooting accuracy at goal attack.

Ella Mackenzie, who shared the goal attack bib, was also impressive, converting 85.7% of her shots and missing only two attempts.

College’s momentum carried into the third quarter, and they extended the lead to 48-28 at the final break.

On defence, the College duo of Maddie Tinnock and Holly McRae stood strong, disrupting University-Albion B’s attack and helping secure the lead.

Despite College A winning the first three quarters, University-Albion B turned up the intensity in the final 15 minutes.

Defenders Galilee Hiko and Char’lee Jones worked tirelessly to slow College’s scoring, keeping the last quarter to 14-14.

In other games, University-Albion A showed their class in a 67-36 win over over the South Pac Titans Tāiko, and Physed A were too strong for Southern Magpies, winning 70-51.
