New Zealand motor racing driver Scott Dixon and his wife Emma Davies Dixon are expecting their first child.

The 2008 Indy 500 winner's father Ron, said the baby was due in July but the couple did not yet know if it was a boy or a girl.

Ron Dixon told the Herald on Sunday they were happy to wait until the baby was born to find out the sex.

The paper said Dixon had earned about $26.6 million on the Indy Racing League circuit in the past six years and were apparently buying a new private plane -- a twin-turbocharged Cessna 400 billed as "the world's fastest fixed gear plane".
