Here’s mud in your eye

Joseph McDowall (Invercargill) left nothing out on the track — and he carried a good portion of it with him. McDowall was competing in the national veterans’ and women’s motocross championship held near Lee Stream at the weekend. The event attracted nearly 140 competitors.

Saturday’s racing was marred by poor weather and was called off early, but the programme was completed yesterday. Former world No2 Josh Coppins won the veterans’ category and Otago’s Courtney Duncan was too good for the field in the women’s championship.
