The University of Otago physical education student, who has just turned 21, has been selected to play for the Canterbury Invitational side to take on the Auckland development team in Christchurch on Monday.
Misky, a hooker, said it was a great opportunity for him and he was looking forward to the game.
''I had a bit of a taste for it last year when I played in the New Zealand Universities team down here at the stadium in the curtain-raiser before the Kiwis test,'' he said.
''It is a big chance, a big opportunity and it is always good to test yourself at the next level.''
Misky plays his club league for the South Pacific Raiders in Dunedin.
The invitational side includes a back from Southland and the rest of the players are from the Canterbury competition.
The Canterbury team is a precursor to the full Canterbury Bulls side, which will play in the national competition later in the season.
The Bulls represent the South Island zone in the national competition.
Apart from two years playing rugby at St Patrick's College in Wellington, Misky has always played league and said he loved the game.
He hoped to make an impact in the game but whatever happened, he was not going to play next year.
Misky said he was heading to Tokelau for a year.
He would visit friends and family on the South Pacific island and also take some time out to assess goals and aims for the rest of his life.
