A contrasting performance produced the same result for the Dunedin Thunder on Saturday.
The home side beat the Canterbury Red Devils 6-1 in the second of their two weekend games in Dunedin.
On Friday the Thunder won the first match between the sides with a fast start, before hanging on for a close win.
But on Saturday it went about things completely differently.
Three last-period goals saw the Thunder finish with a blowout scoreline and a comfortable win.
The Dunedin side again produced a fast early goal, with Benjamin Gavoille finding the back of the net.
Later in the period Matt Enright scored, before Canterbury landed its first goal.
Tristan Darling extended the Thunder's lead to 3-1 after two periods, before the side sealed the win with goals from Brandon Egli, Shaun Brown and Paris Heyd.
The Stampede matched its provincial counterparts by backing up its Friday night win with another on Saturday.
The Queenstown side beat the West Auckland Admirals 3-1 in their second meeting.
Colin McIntosh, Matt Schneider and Stephen Johnston all scored for the home team.
The victory moved the Stampede to second on the national competition ladder.
Despite their two losses, the West Auckland Admirals hold the top spot.
The Stampede plays the Canterbury Red Devils on Friday and Saturday in Queenstown in its next two-game series.
The Thunder will travel to Auckland to play the Botany Swarm on Saturday and Sunday.
