If it’s good enough for big sister ...

These sisters are doing it for themselves.

In October 2016, Anahera Koni grabbed a hole in one at the fifth hole at Island Park Golf Club.

Now, almost four years later, her little sister, Maia, grabbed a hole in one on the exact same hole.

Maia (8) used a 7-iron on the par-3 fifth to score her ace on Saturday morning.

She played off the Tiger tees, 85m away from the target. She hit the ball to the edge of the green and it rolled in.

Her brother, Kairangi, was standing on the edge of the green and yelled "It’s in the hole".

Maia and Anahera, who both attend St Bernadette’s School, rushed up to the hole and did a bit of a celebration dance as Maia retrieved the ball.

The hole is one which has a big pond in front of it and many have found the water.

But not the Koni sisters.

Anahera, now 10, nailed her hole in one on October 8, 2016, when she used a 3-wood to hit the hole in one. She is believed to be the youngest New Zealander to hit an ace.

Maia received a round of applause when she went into the clubrooms on Saturday.

The family has been playing golf for a few years now and Kairangi and Anahera have travelled overseas to play.

But the focus is on enjoyment and having fun as a family.

And with two holes in one already, the family is having plenty of fun.
