Unfortunately Hicks-Beach has taken up new employment and is not available for Otago women’s teams this year.
She was 3-over par for both nines in the morning round to finish 6-over-par on 80, holding a two-shot lead over Crawford at lunch.
In the afternoon she bogeyed the first two holes as well as the 14th and 16th holes to finish 4-over-par on 78.
Crawford can only lament her starts to both rounds, bogeying the third and fifth holes in the morning to be six over and then recovering, dropping only two shots in the next 13 holes.
She lost any chance of catching Hicks-Beach when she turned seven-over in the afternoon.
Scoring was not easy early in the morning when the silver and bronze champions teed off.
St Clair won the Rosebowl Trophy which is awarded to the team of three champions on a gross stableford total for the six rounds.
The home team of Crawford, Jocelyn Livesy and June Cardno finished with 94 gross stablefords.
This put St Clair 10 shots ahead of the Maniototo Club (84), followed by Taieri Lakes (81), Queenstown (80), Toko (79) and Arrowtown 78.
