Wakatipu will represent Otago at the 36-hole tournament on the Waipu links course.
The Queenstown school qualified with a remarkable 17-shot win at the Otago finals, and will appear at the national tournament for the first time in 16 years.
Jamie Anstiss, Samson Kim, Edward Cochrane and Sungwoo Han will be accompanied by professional Ben Gallie.
Fourteen schools from the 15 districts around New Zealand (only Southland has not sent a school) will contest the national championship.
Whangarei Boys' High School is rated a strong chance of claiming the title on what is virtually home ground.
"The local team will be very hard to beat," New Zealand Golf manager Phil Aickin said.
"This links course requires some local knowledge, especially if the wind blows, so look out for a Whangarei Boys' High School team who have every player on a scratch handicap or better.
"They feature last year's individual winner Luke Brown, plus the talented Sean Masters, Kadin Neho and Chase McKeown.
"There are some other schools boasting low handicappers but the best challenge to the locals may come from St Bede's College, from Christchurch."
There will be a new champion in 2012, with defending champion St Peter's failing to qualify from the Waikato district.
The New Zealand under-19 championship will also be contested next week.
The men's field of 156 players, which includes Srixon Academy player Sam An and Srixon Development players Tyler Hodge, Nick Voke and Compton Pikari, will play at the Waipu Golf Club, while the 58-strong women's field will compete at the Mangawhai Golf Club.
