Tim Leonard took advantage of playing on his home course in Timaru to win the South Island under-19 title in a play-off yesterday.
Leonard (18) came from behind with a 6-under-par 66 in the final round to tie with Vaughan McCall (Gore) on 212.
Leonard took the title at the second play-off hole, when when McCall failed to make a par four.
Laura Hoskin (Arrowtown) shot a three-over final round of 76 to won the girls' title by six shots from Shani Arona (Arrowtown).
Ryan Chisnall (Greenacres) took under-17 honours, Baydon Mazey (Carterton) the under-15 and Tom Pearson (Christchurch) the under-13 event.
Canterbury won all three team events while the Otago boys finished third in the under-19 and under-16 events.
