It was a close finish at the Taieri Classic on Sunday with Jeremy Hall, of Greenacres, taking the title after a two-hole play-off.
After 36-holes on Taieri Lakes Golf Course, Hall was drawn with St Clair member Ryan Bellamy on 144.
Hall carded 74 in the morning, followed by 70 in the afternoon.
Bellamy was more consistent, playing to a regulation 72 both morning and afternoon.
Overcast conditions for most of the morning, gradually heating up in the afternoon, made perfect playing conditions for the Classic.
There were 18 players in division 1 playing for the overall gross title and 40 players in division 2 vying for net and gross honours.
At the prizegiving, club president Blair Ellis said the course was in excellent condition with the greens in the best condition Taieri had seen for a few years.
The division 2 best gross section was won by Michael Minty, of Island Park, and the division 2 net section was won by Dwayne Weir, of Taieri Lakes.
The Taieri Classic Amam, played the previous day, was won by Taieri players Colin Day, Ian James, Jaxon Boyes and Dwayne Boyes.
