Bungard made it back-to-back Dunedin strokeplay titles at his home St Clair club by holding on for a two-shot victory yesterday.
He needed to dig deep as he faltered slightly on the back nine before carding a 1-over 72 to follow his opening 71 on Saturday.
Fellow St Clair player Conor Jamison, who carded 72 on Saturday, could not quite go so low yesterday, finishing with a 73.
Bungard, who won the Dunedin strokeplay last year on the first hole of a playoff with clubmate Tony Giles, won the Southland strokeplay last month.
Tina Deans (St Clair) won the women’s title yesterday with a net 140.
